1 Rollback to the previous version of Windows 10 ( this is what MS advise). Boinc screensaver loading message appears, then immediately terminates. There is nothing you have overlooked, until MS fix it, there are two things you can do.

Once the EPEL is enabled, install the Linux application by running: sudo yum install boinc-client boinc-manager This thread and some others explain that the Windows 10 Creator update broke the BOINC screensaver, not just SETIHome but all BOINC project screensavers. However, many projects do not have screensaver graphics. The project graphicsdisplay the graphics for one of the currently running tasks, e.g., SETIhome. For example, if you are enabling the EPEL repository for x86_64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, you would run the following command: sudo rpm -Uvh The overview screensaverdisplays general information, such as the BOINC status, a list of projects, etc. In order to install the Linux application on Fedora-based Linux distributions such as Red Hat Linux, you will first need to enable the Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux repository.įurther information and instructions about this process are available on the Fedora website's page for the Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux. How do I install the Linux application on Red Hat or other Fedora-based distributions?
I've sent a PM to Oliver, but probably not before he went home for the weekend. The BOINC screensaver is just a windows screensaver. I think that means that the 'Show graphics' will work while a LAT task is running, but not while an h1 task is running. The second one lists a 'graphics' application, but doesn't declare it as a "graphics_app". It takes several minutes to return to windows from screensaver. I think I've found a configuration error at Einstein.

I also run BOINC on my gaming PC which consists of an all water cooled Ryzen 7 3700x, GTX 980ti, and 32GB of RAM and it runs fine with the same settings.

Was there a change in the BOINC software that has rendered my old hardware incompatible or something? The GPU temperature isn't increasing at all, it stays at idle temps.
What it shows is that the CPU temp is actually increasing on all cores by 10-15C although I vaguely remember it getting even hotter when the screensaver used to work. I have hwinfo running at all times lately to see if maybe the hardware is being utilized even though the project screensavers aren't loading. I'm running Windows 10 with the latest updates and the latest version of BOINC. To be honest I'm not 100% sure what any of these actually mean but it's been working for years until a few months ago. Switch between project screensavers every: 1 hour The projects I'm subscribed to are SETI, Milkyway, and Einstein. It is finally bugging me enough that I made an account here to ask about it.
Instead of loading the actual screensaver, the BOINC logo will drift around the screen with "BOINC screensaver loading" spelled out underneath and the screensaver will never load.
